15 Days to Go. Make them Count.
Today I dropped our ballots in an official drop box and doubled down on my commitment to ensure DJT is evicted from the White House. Only 15 days remain before the last votes are cast on Election Day. What can you do to make sure Biden is elected and we take as many Senate seats as possible?
Our Wine for Change crew sent 3,000 postcards to voters in Arizona, California, Colorado, Iowa and Montana. How many more voters in swing states can we reach? I won’t be hosting any more WFC events before the election since I’ll be in Nevada for poll observation and working on get out the vote (GOTV) and voter protection (VoPro) hotline shifts. Now it’s up to each of us to do what we can.
Here are a few opportunities. Please give 1 - 5 hours each week if you can. Don’t wake up November 4 with any regrets!
Text-bank for Joe Biden. I’ve become addicted to text banking. I sent well over 3,000 text messages in the last two weekends and got many engaging responses - some to get out the vote; some persuasion of undecided voters; and a few pissed off MAGA people. The Campaign's ThruText system keeps you anonymous and has all of the scripts and responses pre-loaded for you to choose from and/or personalize. Sign up here.
Phone bank with Flip the West to GOTV in Swing States - They are hosting nightly 2 hour shifts between now and Election Day. Sign up here.
Volunteer to do VoPro in person poll observation via the Biden campaign here or contact me directly if you want to do in person poll observation in Las Vegas during early voting (now through 9/30/20) and/or on Election Day.
Volunteer for the Florida Voter Protection Hotline to take calls from voters in 2 hour shifts during hotline hours (7 am - 7 pm Eastern). Sign up for a training session here; training sessions are Wednesday or Thursday this week.
Phone-bank for Joe Biden using their ThruTalk dialer that keeps you anonymous and provides the scripts for each calls. Sign up here.
Donate to key Senate races (Other than Amy McGrath who is flush with $). The Dems in toss-up races include: Theresa Greenfield (IA), Sara Gideon (ME), Rev. Raphael Warnock (GA), Jon Ossoff (GA), Barbara Bollier (KS), Cal Cunningham (NC), Jaime Harrison (SC), Steve Bullock (MT), Al Gross (AK). Madeline Dyke, founder of Climate Changemakers (and the daughter of my former colleague and WFC honorary member Chuck Dyke), suggests how you can help: (1) pick one or more of these "toss-up" candidates that you like, then (2) assess what you can give - money? time? social influence? Or all three? Madeline further suggests:-
If you have money - donate via GiveGreen, a climate-alternative to ActBlue where all the donations go right to the candidate, but it's "stamped" as being climate-motivated. Just like SwingLeft you can custom allocate as much or as little to each individual candidate.
If you have time: "adopt" one of these races by volunteering for 1 hr/week with Climate Changemakers. Sign up here.
If you have social influence: Pick a candidate and amplify them to your networks. Retweet, repost, share a fundraising link (such as Give Green), send an email to your friends, etc. Get out the word to get out the vote!
Finally, if you have not already voted, get your plan to vote today by going to iwillvote.com!
And for extra credit and continuing to stay plugged into climate action, follow Madeline’s Climate Changemakers on Twitter and Instagram. It also goes without saying that if you’re not already, please follow Wine for Change on Twitter and Instagram!
Let’s win this thing!
